Along with the bonefish the GT’s showed up with 10 large specimens landed during the week and many more incidents that the anglers did not win. The largest GT’s were tied at 103cm and caught by Ryan Monsein. The second 103cm giant was caught surprisingly when Christian Kitchell and Lea Stendahl found themselves amongst a mass of diving birds and busting yellowfin tuna, landing two along with the  unexpected 103cm GT. A few hours later Christian had landed a milkfish and finished the day with a bunch of bones to score another “Grand Slam”

The milkfish fishing was described as “wild” this week with five making it to the net and many more hook ups. Burke Hildner managed to land the ‘fish of a thousand casts’ and followed it up with a perfect 100cm GT and a bonefish to make up a fantastic “Grand Slam”.

Also getting in on the ‘Slam’ action was Serhiy Larin with a 96cm GT, bonefish and the only yellowmargin triggerfish to complete a ‘Flat’s Slam’.

Despite rough seas the bluewater yielded a solid variety of species and numbers. Sailfish on fly, Wahoo, Yellowfin and Dogtooth tuna all came boat side and were released to fight another day.
